It has been an uneventful week here in central Texas, so I've included a photo from the previous week when we had our first snowfall in three years. I was an avid skier throughout my early and middle years, so seeing snow is always a pleasure, just as long as I don't have to dig out my driveway. A female ladder-backed woodpecker came a-pecking at our birdfeeder outside my office window, and she is the subject of this week's picture.
I've finished writing a new opening for the second story, which was fun. I've doubled the length of the story called Iron Bear. The Wheel of Time's second book title, Great Hunt, inspired it.
As I write this, I'm listening to the Shondells' Crimson and Clover. This was a blast from the past even for me. I wonder what happened to this group because I don't recall any other song from them.
