The polar vortex striking the US has reached central Texas, causing our temperature to drop by almost twenty degrees centigrade. So, it's back to the puzzle, and this week's photo is my slow progress.

I'm close to finishing the first short story in the anthology I hope to publish toward the end of this year. It's fun to work on short stories again, as it's what I cut my teeth on for the first five years of my writing. Each story has a beginning, middle, and end within seven thousand words, whereas a novel may have six months of writing between the beginning and end.
As I write this, I'm listening to ELO's Mr. Blue Sky. I don't get to hear this song often, though I enjoy it when it comes on the radio. Although not part of the lyrics, I wonder what the younger generation makes of the last four words frequently included with the recordings.
